I have a spending problem thus leading me into owning too many cars. That sums it all up in a nutshell.
I know this isn't the best idea in the world with my spending problem because ONE day, someone is going to give in to the line we most commonly use.. " We were wondering if you wanted to get rid of that car/truck/boat sitting in your yard " and then i'll have another car to my collection which I'm wanting to liquidate.
So yes.. The first item of interest today has always seen by me driving around but never stationary long enough to snap a picture or talk to the owner.
Like Moby Dick... We finally spotted it
1985 Toyota Cressida WITHHH a custom made body kit..
So 80's it should have its own theme song with Mc Hammer in the back ground.
Apparently from the owner, hes owned the car since 87, had the kit custom made from RAYCO on Queens BLVD.
Amazingly its stood up to the test of time.
Upon closer inspection.. Its a 80's Maxima Kaminari kit molded to fit the Cressida... Pretty ingenious and unique.
Hidden Gold..
Driving through Hollis on my way home Sam yells out stop, there's an FJ in there!
Reversed up the block, and there it was a FJ being hidden behind a Taurus.
Quickly walked to the door, and met an Elderly woman who informed us that it was her husbands and she wasn't sure if he wanted to sell it or not, Left my number hoping he'd say yes.
Its a 1988 FJ62 Autotragic ( BOOO!), not a FJ60 4spd like what I had originally hoped for, but none the less its a FJ Sitting forgotten through time in someones yard.
It needs a fair share of work, but if it can be picked up for cheap.. Ill consider it
Typical rust that attacks FJ's and its been banged up quite a bit, maybe the Heineken 40oz in the cabin hits at how it ended up with a dented front bumper and cracked grille...
There was a few more cars we spotted today, but we'll get into those later as it was already nightfall and too dark to get good pictures.
Wow, that kit is nice. I actually like that car. +1 for u guys
