HEY LOOK!

So what we have here is a forgotten redheaded step child.

The S130 series Z's. The 280's were Nissan...er Datsun's ugly step child
riddled with heavy safety bumpers, all the egr & smog crap on them and a coupled with the fact it wasn't that powerful compared to other sports cars of the era.. No one wants one, unless its a Turbo "Zed". But weirdly enough.. there are a certain few people that actually prefer this model of the Fairlady over the earlier 240 series cars, we wont get into the 260's cause honestly.. they suck.

But yes It appears this car is a 79-80 model due to the short rear over hang, as the s130s progressed towards the end of their model line, the cars became bigger & bulkier... In other words uglier and slower. The first thing I noticed today when I looked at the car today in daylight was the airdam. Although the car looks lowered, upon a closer look, it seems the car has sunken into the ground.

I want to go see if the owner wanting to " dispose" of the eye sore in his yard
I WANT IT BAD

AND, Down the block from the Z we have ......
HALP ME HALP.

1971 GTO , Ram Air car.
No one ever answers the door, its has Jersey plates from the early 90s and its screaming right now to anyone looking at it. SAVE ME PLEASE

It looks as if it was dragged out of the tattered garage in the back ground only to have a tree fall on it... Its savable although rough and need of TLC, with a little work it can be a driver again and with a few quite a bit more dollars, it can surely enough be a fully restored GOAT.

I'm going to try to snap a picture of the front of this car and upload it when the weather breaks again.

This is our oddball of a pick today, Just driving by & we happened to spot this 2nd Gen 4runner
Yes...

its not old, yes its not desirable BUT damn for some odd reasons these things attract us.
Pretty sure the 3vz has the typical BHG, hence the reason its parked and not still driving around toting its amazing 4wd capabilities in the snow.

Guaranteed were going back on this one to see if they want to sell.

Oh My

So while looking at a potential apartment today I walked onto the balcony and I spied this gem.

MGB MKI GT.
Its a metal bumper car so its a late 60s early 70s car..

I wonder why its sitting there forgotten over time.....

OH WAIT, It's a British car, no further questions.

Lurking..

So...

This was found today by complete accident.
Driving by Smokey Park I Sam spotted this in a yard

" ITS A MUSTANG MAN, SOME OLD ONE, BUT HE DON'T GOT NO TITLE FOR IT "
- Words from the lady who occupied the dwelling....

1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500cc.
4cyl, 4spd Sitting since 2002.

Sam & I spoke to the owner of the car, he seemed very.... weird
He wanted to do a " body lift "..? beats me, but the car was in good shape. Unlike older British cars the body wasn't falling apart and from his words it ran and drove to where it sat now as a lovely yard ornament, 6 Years ago.

Opened the one piece bonnet to reveal the original 1500cc 4cyl still intact, and upgraded with a Crane Ign system, & Weber DGV carb from what I saw. Should seem peppy and a fun little roadster to zip around with.

Remnants from the past....

My uncle's 1981 Camaro circa 1992...
1981 LT, 305 v8 Auto.

This is how it sits now

3~4 Owners later, neglected, abused, beaten to absolute shit

It was sold sometime in the early 90s after that first picture was taken, sat, sold, sat, sold and finally sat when another family member tracked it down and bought it from the owner, where it sat in his yard in disrepair and finally decided to give in on the project because at that point..
It had no frame rails, no trunk , no floors and didn't run, the crudely 80's cut sunroof was leaking and destroyed the interior.

The current owner bought the car as a parts car for his various Firebirds and Trans Ams

Sadly this car will never see the road again, it will relinguish as just a parts car that has nothing good left on it, so.. most likely the end of the road for this once prime machine is nearing FAST.
RIP memories, Go onto that big drive-in somewhere in a better place...

oHai.

Hey there, Little background on myself.
I have a spending problem thus leading me into owning too many cars. That sums it all up in a nutshell.

I know this isn't the best idea in the world with my spending problem because ONE day, someone is going to give in to the line we most commonly use.. " We were wondering if you wanted to get rid of that car/truck/boat sitting in your yard " and then i'll have another car to my collection which I'm wanting to liquidate.

So yes.. The first item of interest today has always seen by me driving around but never stationary long enough to snap a picture or talk to the owner.

Like Moby Dick... We finally spotted it

1985 Toyota Cressida WITHHH a custom made body kit..
So 80's it should have its own theme song with Mc Hammer in the back ground.

Apparently from the owner, hes owned the car since 87, had the kit custom made from RAYCO on Queens BLVD.
Amazingly its stood up to the test of time.

Upon closer inspection.. Its a 80's Maxima Kaminari kit molded to fit the Cressida... Pretty ingenious and unique.

Hidden Gold..

Driving through Hollis on my way home Sam yells out stop, there's an FJ in there!
Reversed up the block, and there it was a FJ being hidden behind a Taurus.

Quickly walked to the door, and met an Elderly woman who informed us that it was her husbands and she wasn't sure if he wanted to sell it or not, Left my number hoping he'd say yes.

Its a 1988 FJ62 Autotragic ( BOOO!), not a FJ60 4spd like what I had originally hoped for, but none the less its a FJ Sitting forgotten through time in someones yard.

It needs a fair share of work, but if it can be picked up for cheap.. Ill consider it
Typical rust that attacks FJ's and its been banged up quite a bit, maybe the Heineken 40oz in the cabin hits at how it ended up with a dented front bumper and cracked grille...

There was a few more cars we spotted today, but we'll get into those later as it was already nightfall and too dark to get good pictures.

The First...

Hello all. =) This is the start of an idea my friend Travis and I have had in our minds for the past few months. We are avid car enthusiasts living in NYC always looking for that next project or cool car stored and forgotten. We have made it our duty to troll the neighborhoods around New York City looking for cars. Not just any cars, but cars with nostalgia. Cars we've seen growing up, the cars we've all heard stories about. The kinda cars that you see and it just makes you think of a better time.

Here we are, bringing you the cars we've found around mostly around Queens and Brooklyn. Cars that were once mint, once loved, once driven. Anything really goes here. American, Japanese, Euro, etc. We'll do our best. But expect mostly 70's-80's Japanese and American cars since those are what we hold closest to our hearts.

One thing we would like to address is, please do not ask for locations of these cars. We will not disclose actual addresses in respect to the owners.

Here's some cars from our adventures through St. Albans Queens on 2/2/2010.

This one like most cars were found on accident. I caught the side of the car from another yard around the corner. Here's an '84 Pontiac 15'th Anniversary Trans Am. 1 of 1500 produced in 1984. These cars came with Upgraded Recaro seats, Leather covered Steering wheel, shifter knob, and map pouch. A 5.0 High Output w/carb powered this machine with a 700R-4 4 speed Transmission out to a Posi Rear with disc brakes. Truely one rare bird to come across in Queens. Travis and I spoke to the owner, a older gentleman who was very nice to us. He allowed us to take a look at the car and give us some insight on it. It was last on the road in 1999 and has been sitting since.

Here lies Bigfoot. An '82 Toyota Pickup modified with dress up and some off road goodies. I apologize for the lack of photos on this one since I ran out of space on my camera. But this truck is in pretty good condition for it's age. Some rust on the cab and some on the bed. The truck was set up for show at one point in it's life. The bed once had a hydraulic ram to make it into a dump bed. Huge lift, gianormous tires, and a mean front end makes this 'Yota a head turner. We spoke to the current owner who told us he bought the truck from a guy around the corner for $600 and so far has changed the chassis, carb and has added some of his personal touches. The truck will be shipped to Haiti in the near future where he will enjoy the truck.

Last but not least for this day was a maroon '86 Camaro Z28 or IROC-Z. Theres not much known about this car other than it's been sitting in a yard for a few years. We knocked on the door and got no answer. We spoke to a man across the street who informed us that the home is empty and the current owner checks in every few days to pick up the mail. He advised us to leave a note for the owner to get in contact about the car. Which we will be doing soon. I personally have a soft spot for Maroon Third Gen Z28s.

Keep Checking back for updates. We have lots more to discover. =)
